Good afternoon. This is a good day for Bosnia and Herzegovina and for the region, a very important day for the victims of the General Mladić’s felonious spree, for the future of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the region. The justice is obviously slow, in this case too slow, but inevitable.
BiH Presidency Member Bakir Izetbegović on this occasion thanked Ambassador Schmidt for an exceptional personal engagement in improving the relations of the two states, as well as the support given to BiH on its European path. He wished Ambassador Schmidt success in his career ahead.
The Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina held an urgent session today where it brought Decision on abrogation of the previous Decision to suspend issuing licenses for the export of arms and military equipment from Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The interlocutors expressed their satisfaction with the Decision of the Government of the Sarajevo Canton to withdraw the initial Decision of the Ministry, in which the final grade in this subject does not fall in the school grade average.
The interlocutors agreed that it is primarily necessary to solve the status questions of the returnees in RS, put out of force all regulations of FBiH which showed as non-stimulants to the process of return, i.e. regulations which mean the loss of gained rights in FBiH with the return to RS and the change of residency. It was also talked about finding additional sources of financing the process of return.
BiH Presidency Member Bakir Izetbegović expressed full support to efforts of the Club of the Bosniak People in the National Assembly of Republika Srpska to ensure equal status of the Bosniak people in that entity. The fact is that this Club, as he highlighted, is completely united in its position shows itself just how serious this problem is. He expressed his pleasure at the high degree of understanding which has been achieved amongst the delegates.
Following the invitation from the President of Bulgaria, Mr. Petar Stojanov, BiH Presidency member, Mr. Bakir Izetbegović attended the Official Launch of the Center of Global Dialogue and Cooperation in Vienna and participated in the work of the conference “Dialogue and Cooperation for Change“ Western Balkans - Model for Stability for Culturally and Religiously Diversified Regions.
BiH Presidency Member Bakir Izetbegović received President of Bosnia and Herzegovina-Danish Academic Club (BIHDAK), Mr. Niels Jørgen Nehring, former Ambassador of the Kingdom of Denmark to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Vice-President of the Danish-Bosnian Business Club (DBBC), Mr. Amir Reko, and representatives of the Association of BiH Youth and Students in Denmark (BUF).
Members of the Delegation informed Mr. Izetbegović on the activities related to the preparation of the 501st Ajvatovica, and invited him to open this year's Manifestation of the “Days of Ajvatovica“on 8 June 2011.
On this occasion, BiH Presidency Member Željko Komšić highlighted an active engagement of the Federal Republic of Germany in the past few years and pointed out to a wish for furthering of the co-operation of the two states, especially in the process of the Euro-Atlantic integrations.
