Bosnia and Herzegovina Presidency Member Dr Haris Silajdžić met with Charles I. English, the US Ambassador the Bosnia and Herzegovina and general-major Richard O. Wightman, the NATO Headquarters Commander to Bosnia and Herzegovina.

During the meeting, Ambassador English particularly mentioned the issue of military property, notably in light of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s efforts to continue its path to the full-fledged NATO membership. On that occasion, he reiterated his full support that the movable military property should be the ownership of the State of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Dr Silajdžić supported the efforts of the US Embassy and the NATO Headquarters to Bosnia and Herzegovina to solve the issue as soon as possible. However, during the meeting, he stressed out that the legal basis for solving the issue of military property, as well as all other state property should be the Agreement on former SFRY succession issues, which has a role of an international agreement and by it, Bosnia and Herzegovina is a titular of property rights concerning the mentioned property.
