On the second day of his visit to Saint Louis, BiH Presidency Chairman Željko Komšić attended the 10th anniversary of the Sabah weekly magazine, the most significant newspaper of our citizens living in the North America.

About 500 of our citizens and American guests attended the festivity.

The BiH Presidency Chairman, who opened this event, during his speech, emphasized that Sabah was not significant because it tried to maintain ties between our citizens who live in USA and Canada, and homeland, but for “writing about the existence and the new American life of our people”.

At the end of the address, all present guests greeted Komšić in a very cordial and warm manner.

Senator Harry Kennedy and Senad ef. Agić, the chief imam for the North America, among else, expressed pleasure and welcomed the Chairman.

During the day, Chairman Komšić met with Charlie Dooley, the St. Louis County Government President and his associates, as well as with Francis Slay, the Mayor of St. Louis.

Prime Minister Dooley has very positively talked about the BiH community in St. Louis.

Mayor Slay said that a special commission for relations with the BiH community in St Louis would be formed and tasked to stimulate and strengthen the ties with BiH.

For his noticed contribution to strengthening democracy, tolerance, rule of law and fight against discrimination, Chairman Komšić was awarded with the St. Louis Parliament charter.

Komšić also visited “Europa Market” of owners Alem and Danijela Borić. “Europa Market” is the largest importer and distributor of food products from BiH in the American market.

Chairman Komšić visited the “State University of Missouri”, and on that occasion, Thomas George, the University President informed him in detail about further steps in order to enhance the existing cooperation with the Universities in Sarajevo and Tuzla.
