At the beginning of the meeting the interlocutors agreed that the relations between the two states are exceptionally good and friendly, without open questions, but that there is room for improvement of cooperation, particularly in the field of economy.

Dr Čović informed Ambassador Erginay about
the current political situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina, activities targeted
towards gaining the candidate status to the EU by the end of 2017, as well as the
European perspective of Bosnia and Herzegovina as the foundation of the foreign
policy of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the period ahead.
Ambassador Erginay pointed out significant
progress which Bosnia and Herzegovina has made in the last two years, and that
Turkey will remain an important partner on BiH’s path to the EU and NATO. He
thanked Dr Čović and his cabinet for a successful and friendly cooperation in
the past period, and expressed hope that the strong relations will remain at
the same level in the future.
At the end of the meeting, the Croat
member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Dr Dragan Čović thanked
Ambassador Erginay for a very fair cooperation during his mandate in BiH, and
wished the ambassador much success in the diplomatic career ahead.
