The Chargé d’Affaires of the Embassy of the United States of America to Bosnia and Herzegovina John Ginkel, along with representatives of AAFS Infrastructure and Energy LLC Joe Flynn and Jesse Binnall, thanked the members of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina for the opportunity to present the significance of the Southern Interconnection project and the importance of joint efforts on this important infrastructure and energy project.

The
Southern Interconnection project is an initiative launched with the support of
the United States of America, and in that context, today’s meeting represents a
continuation of discussions with political representatives regarding the
project. It was emphasized that continuous and constructive cooperation at all
levels of government is necessary in order to ensure concrete results and
accelerate progress towards the implementation of the project.
It
was stated that the project represents an opportunity for a long-term
partnership between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the United States of America, as
an investor, as well as an opportunity for the existing industry in Bosnia and
Herzegovina to enhance its capacities, strengthen the economy, and foster
economic growth.
It
was highlighted that the Southern Interconnection is a strategic infrastructure
project for Bosnia and Herzegovina, enabling energy diversification,
contributing to energy stability, and facilitating integration with the
European energy market.
The
members of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina were briefed on the project
in terms of construction timelines, pipeline capacity, the legal procedures
required for the commencement of implementation, as well as the benefits of the
project for employment, economic strengthening, energy security enhancement,
and the attraction of foreign investment.
The
members of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina confirmed that there is
political consensus regarding the Southern Interconnection project, which will
enable the enhancement of cooperation between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the
United States of America and establish a long-term partnership.
