Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Dr Denis Bećirović spoke with the Ambassador of the Republic of North Macedonia to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Jakup Redžepi

It was stated that bilateral relations between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of North Macedonia are very good and friendly. The good bilateral cooperation between the two countries is also evidenced by the fact that in the past period, a series of meetings of the high and highest officials, on a bilateral and multilateral basis, were realized.

Chairman Bećirović recalled the important and substantive talks with the President of the Republic of North Macedonia Gordana Siljanovska Davkova in Skopje. On that occasion, it was pointed out that additional efforts will be made in order for Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of North Macedonia to jointly face challenges and take advantage of opportunities for progress in the region.

Chairman of BiH Presidency Dr Denis Bećirović stressed that Bosnia and Herzegovina attaches great importance to strengthening regional cooperation and improving good neighbourly relations. This is also reflected in the strong participation of Bosnia and Herzegovina in numerous regional initiatives.

Dr Bećirović said that there is no alternative to the European and Euro-Atlantic integration, and thanked the Republic of North Macedonia for supporting Bosnia and Herzegovina on the path to the EU and NATO. He pointed out the importance of the EU enlargement for Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Western Balkans, but also for the EU itself.

He also thanked for the support during the adoption of the Resolution on the International Day of Remembrance and Commemoration of the Genocide in Srebrenica committed in 1995 in the UN General Assembly.

During the conversation, the interlocutors emphasized that both countries are interested in improving economic cooperation.
