It is with great regret that I received the news of the death of Vlado Strugar, a great man and historian whose scientific work has left a deep mark in Serbian society. He was the author of many books and scientific papers that will be the basis for acquiring knowledge for both present and future generations.

It was an honor to know this remarkable man and to work with him. His death represents an irreparable loss, not only to family and friends, but to the entire academic community and Serbian society. Vlado Strugar belonged to a circle of the greatest Serbian historians and for decades enjoyed a great reputation among local and international public.

He will be remembered as a remarkable man and a patriot. In sympathy for the pain that has befallen your family, I convey to you my deepest condolences.
